Description	• Monitor & Optimize Database Management System by o Performing backup and recovery of all DBMS databases. o Managing database users. & taking appropriate measures to ensure the security of the DBMS data. o Performing all system maintenance for the DBMS. o Installing and supporting primary client programs connecting to the DBMS. o Providing technical assistance to Institute staff using the DBMS & recommending hardware upgrades to the database server as needed. • Keep the data Confidentiality and Security by o Developing policies to ensure the security and confidentiality of the Health Policy Institute’s identifiable health data. o Monitoring research staff’s compliance with confidentiality policies to assure that security standards are met. • Process & analyze Data by o Assuring the quality of data feeds and processing of downloads from Medicare and Medicaid data systems. o Assisting in data analysis using various statistical and database packages, handling the archiving research-related data and programs. • Hardware and Software: Assist in the management OS platforms and recommends purchase of new hardware and software maintenance of records and reports relating to database operations, data/project archives, and disk maintenance.
Qualifications	• A bachelor degree in Computer Science/Computer Engineering or any other related field. • Oracle and MS SQL Server Administration • Window NT, Linux, AIX Administration and management • Relational database design and analysis • Proven Oracle DBA, or Microsoft SQL Server DBA Certified • Proven ability to develop micro-based applications using modern RDBMS • Demonstrated ability to independently complete assigned tasks. • SAS and Medicare or Medicaid Administrative data experience is preferred.
