responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to: • designing and implementing litigation support databases • maintaining a thorough knowledge of the user and administrative functions of the various specialist automated litigation support applications used by the firm • providing training on litigation support applications to legal, paralegal, and other staff, including by participating in firm seminars to update all on the latest available technologies and tools • demonstrating strong problem-solving skills as regards the firm’s applications • demonstrating high proficiency regarding customer service for both internal and external clients • demonstrating strong project-management skills, including by handling/prioritizing multiple projects • helping manage vendor relations, budgets and schedules for assigned cases • consulting with litigation teams throughout case data management phases, and generally interfacing between lawyers, vendors, and developers • suggesting improvements to workflow and working with developers to design software improvements • testing new software releases and patches prior to acceptance for production prior to integration with the workflow system and documenting test results • creating related technical documentation
The successful candidate will have: • a strong background in SQL database design, maintenance, troubleshooting, and scripting • thorough knowledge of PCs, Windows Vista, Windows Server environment and network infrastructure • advanced skills in MS Excel, Word, and Access • a strong background in building, running, and maintaining reports • good technical writing skills • the ability quickly to learn, operate, and support the firm’s suite of specialist software • prior experience with production-level imaging/scanning, OCR, coding and document processing workflow is valuable but inessential • very good command of spoken and written English

Candidates must have a bachelors degree and a minimum of five years technology-related work experience. No prior knowledge of automated litigation-specific software is required. Only candidates with a stable resume will be considered. The position is part of the Litigation Support Department. The successful candidate will report directly to the Litigation Support Manager, and will essentially be his right-hand-person.

Because the technology we use is unique in the Middle East, we rely on our US and UK vendors and system integrators to train and support our technologists.
