•Supervise the technical needs of department events including the following:theatre productions, music concerts, film screenings, art gallery exhibits. •Provide on-site technical supervision & stage preparation for all public performances in the theatre venues •Advise &assist student organizations,other departments, outside groups,guest artists, or any others who are authorized to use the theatre venues. •Direct & maintain the day to day operations of all staff within the PVA scenery &lighting shops, setting daily work schedules & helping to solve technical problems as they arise. •Oversee the purchasing of materials for projects for all program events, particularly theatre. Responsible for advance planning of Scenery construction & for maintaining within allocated budgets. •Assist in the supervision,guidance, & training of students involved in the technical aspects of PVA events, as well as students working in the technical shops as part of their PVA classes. •Assure adequate staffing & support for rehearsals in the PVA venues by providing at least one staff member to open & close the facility, by providing access to necessary spaces, & by providing adequate technical services for rehearsals. •Supervise the maintenance & on-going upgrades for the PVA facilities & equipment that are necessary for university teaching & public events. •Perform other tasks designated by Department Chair relevant to PVA events.
Education: B.A degree from specialized Institute or college. MFA is preferable Experience: • Five years practical experience in various areas of technical production and stage craft, including lighting, sound, props, costumes, and scenery. • Professional Theatre experience required. • Supervising skills. Skills: • High level of understanding in stage craft, shop management, set construction, stage management, and budgeting. • Time management and organizational skills. • Good communication skills to work with faculty and students. • Energy and stamina to deal confidently in crisis and perform well under stress • Computer skills: Accounting, Excel, Word, Auto Cad, Vector Works, • Lighting Software Ability
