Description | Purpose: The Production Manager & Technical Director has the responsibility of making sure that the various resources are available for setting up program events, that the technical needs of the events are satisfied, that deadlines are met, that the events open on time, and that the events run smoothly until their scheduled closure. Reports to: Director of Theatre and Chair of PVA department Principal Accountabilities: • Serving as technical director for all theatre productions (4 mainstage and several student shows), • supervise of local staff of five (sound, lighting, and scenery), supervise operation and maintenance of theatre facilities and equipment, and serve as production manager for departmental events. |
Qualifications | Education: Minimum of a BFA in Technical Direction, a record of successful work as a technical director Experience: 5 years practical experience in various areas of technical production and stage craft, including lighting, sound, props, costumes, and scenery. Professional Theatre experience required . Supervising skills Skills: • Management, budgeting, technical planning, supervision of student crews, and scheduling all departmental events • Minimum of a BFA in Technical Direction, a record of successful work as a technical director • Preference will be given to applicants with MFA degree and/or professional experience |
