Description
— Follow up on orders, verifies availability and delivery
dates, and prioritizes, schedules, and expedites delivery of materials
to meet target dates.
— Always develop new buying markets/suppliers, ensure direct buying is
done and minimize buying from brokers to lowest possible.
— Maintaining competitive pricing, with continuous tracking of any
deviation and proactive actions to compensate.
— Communication / Negotiation with supplier and participate in
Negotiating agreements.
— Monitor agriculture commodities stock market and propose proper
timing for buying is done.
— Ensure Supply Stability, prevent excessive inventory stock, and avoid
stock shortages.
— Prepares weekly and monthly vendor reports detailing vendor
performance, reliability, pricing, responsiveness, and quality.
— Analyzes and reports purchase price variances to ensure adherence of
vendors to contractual obligations.
— Maintain up to date supply base information database.
— Participating in yearly cost reductions activities.
Qualifications
• Minimum of 4 years university degree "Science Chemistry or Food Tech Degree.
• Purchasing experience of three (3) to Five (5) in Confectionery/Biscuits manufacturing environment.
• Demonstrating leadership, driving change and continuous improvement. • High mathematical and analytical skills.
• The ability to manage multiple suppliers from different continents.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal skills & presentation skills.
• Comfortable dealing with peers and suppliers at all levels.
• Good negotiation acumen, balancing day to day tactical needs with long term strategic intent.
• Ability to set and realize ambitious objectives and to promote Change.
• Global mindset, used to multicultural and multifunctional teams
• Candidates must have experience of sourcing raw materials traded at commodities stock markets.
• High knowledge of MRP systems is a must.
• CIPS qualified preferred
• Ability to multitask and excel in a fast paced environment.
